General information:
The vessels you will be sailing on are actual working vessels, used for educating youth about life in hundreds of ways. They are not sparkling clean party boats. Most if not all have wooden decks. Sensible shoes such as rubber soled sneakers, deck shoes, etc. will be the most comfortable and safe. While the ships all have a full crew compliment, many will welcome guests to help in sailing the ship if they wish to do so.
At this time, reservations are being taken on a "general admission" basis only, providing a space on one of the participating vessels. As possible, guests may be offered the opportunity to select a specific vessel on a space available basis at the ticket will-call booth when they arrive.
Most of the vessels are historic sailing ships and present some challenges for people with limited mobility. Navigating onto and off of ships can involve shifting docks and ramps, steep gangways and stairs, as well as various obstructions on the decks. While vessels are not wheelchair-accessible, there will be designated ADA viewing areas within the festival. Many of the on-shore activities and educational exhibits will be accessible to people with disabilities.
